“Chi Tung or Chai Tung?” my friend Joanna asked me how to read this word. Chi Tung is a word translate by Chinese mandarin accent. In Chicago, Chi Tung which has almost 30 years history, is one of the most famous Chinese restaurants. There are Chinese, Thai & Japanese fare served from three separate kitchens. Chi Tung restaurant not only has buffet setting but also has hibachi room. It locates at 9560 South Kedzie Avenue. Chi Tung restaurant is a successful restaurant because its cultural decoration, nice servers and delicious flavors.
Cultural decoration provides customers with deep impressions. When cultural characteristics of the hanging picture are pretended to the customers, they will look forward to the menu. Some Asian words seems like to provide a new and special place to customers, and it will give customers many fresh feelings. In the past ten years, people cannot find the decoration like Chi Tung. Specific decoration is one of keys point of success for Chi Tung.
Giving excellent service is asked by the owners of Chi Tung. A successful restaurant cannot lack good service. They have formal and pretty uniforms. Also, they are good at English, and they can handle all the request from the customers. For example, they would ask customers whether are allergic with some foods, the levels of sault, sugar or MSG, and some special cuisine. When customers are served in hibachi room, before chiefs start to cook, chiefs will prepare some special shows to customers such as a fire show and a knife show.
Delicious flavor is the spirit of Chi Tung restaurant. From the menu, there are over one hundred options providing to customers. Orange CK, Gen Tso Ck and Pad Thai are popular items. The chiefs have their own and special ways to prepare sauces. Moreover, they do not premade any food. All the food is fresh so that customers can taste wonderful meals.
When I first time to Chi Tung restaurant, I choice to take hibachi menu. The chief showed his wonder knife show to us. Then, he put some white wine to the white onion rings and fired it. The big fire showed to my face and I was scared at that moment.
Chi Tung came from a small restaurant, and it developed in to the big restaurant today. With the professional management, nice services, and delicious food, Chi Tung give a lot of unforgettable memories to customers.
